Impicciche joined Ascension in 2004, and in January was named president and chief operating officer. He became CEO in July when Anthony Tersigni retired. Impicciche said this August that his focus is based on strategically transforming the nation’s third-largest Catholic health system. Ascension is looking into redesigning the surgical service line and reimagining its acute-care footprint. Recently, Ascension has made headlines due to its partnership with Google and patient data initiative, “Project Nightingale”, which was launched last year.
